Arrowhead - 1929
This antique colored plate features a beautiful image of a grouping of Arrowhead Flowers. The print comes from the book Field Book of American Wild Flowers by F. Schuyler Mathews, who was a Member of the New England Botanical Club. The book was originally copyrighted by Mr. Mathews in 1902. This revised edition was copyrighted in 1927. It is the Twenty-ninth printing by G. P. Putnam’s Sons of New York and London, printed in 1929 by The Knickerbocker Press. The color plates are by the author.
This delicately colored illustration features a cluster of Arrowhead with buds and in full bloom. This is a water plant and gets its name from the obvious arrow shaped leaves. The flower stalk carries the three-petaled white flowers in circles of three. The print is professionally matted in an 8” x 10” baby blue colored matte to highlight the uniqueness of the flowers. Our vintage prints are shipped in a plastic sleeve between cardboard stiffeners to arrive in perfect condition.
Keep in mind, an antique print will never be “perfect” like a new print and there are sometimes tiny occasional spots and/or discoloring or aging. However, we only sell mint or almost mint prints and will not sell anything that we would not be proud to hang on our own walls!!!
WE GUARANTEE ALL PRINTS TO BE AUTHENTIC AND AS DESCRIBED!
